The easiness and development of internet believed sacrifice the harmonism of family. Togetherness time be less because many member of family who prefer to surfing on the internet.

Michael Gilbert, the Center for the Digital Future senior researcher from University of Annenberg School for Communication, said, it makes the time for family to talking each other, face to face, be fewer.
Because, after full-day faced the rush hour or any other activities and after go back home they also surfing on the virtual world. And be more often spent the time in front of the computer.

This is not the first time this research, about the impact of the internet, held. Even, there are some research that said internet has be something that can changes the life-style of millions people in the world.

“Internet is not the same like television. Internet is more protrudes individual services and makes addiction. The main factor of ‘successful’ of internet is its interactivity. You can only sit and give responses”, Gilbert explained.

Center Digital Future Project also has done the survey to about 2,000 families in USA. In 2005, the survei result conclude that the average of each family that spent their togetherness time is about 26 hours per month. However, the togetherness time of the family, in 2008, drastically decrease be 18 hours per month.

“Social networking websites like Twitter and Facebook boom out in 2007. On that time, more than half of online people said that the online communities like this is very important for their offline lifes”, he said.

In Indonesia also, many employeer finish their job slower since they were registered as member in Facebook.

Convenience provided by the internet should speed up our work. Internet is very effective to help our life. But, we must know the right time to access social networking website like facebook.
