Jakarta – Telkom has prepared staff for the 24-hour standby to monitor the reliability and availability of data communications network device.
This step is done by Telkom in order to facilitate the 2009 Presidential Elections. Telkom as a provider of network for Election 2009 optimistic that network management will work well. Telecommunication Facilities (Fastel) for Election that has been built is ready to support the Democratic Party.

Similarly with legislative election that was held on April 9th, Telkom is also responsible for the provision of bandwidth, installation and integration, the provision of facilities for Disaster Recovery Center, Call Center Services and Network Maintenance services for the presidential election that will be held in the near future, “said Vice President of Public and Marketing Communication Telkom, Eddy Kurnia, through his authorized information, tuesday (5/5/2009).
Telkom will be full responsible to the reliability of data communication network in KPU, well KPU in the Regency / Municipality level, Province level or central level. For supporting continuity of data communication network in KPU, Telkom prepare Fastel as much as 504 point which is located in in Regency / Municipality level of KPU Office across Indonesia.

While, Chief of Election 2009 of Telkom Fastel Project Pontjo W. Nugroho said, several activities have been undertaken to strengthen the preparation Fastel Election 2009, such as provisioning to identify the location of KPU and mapping of access network that was available. Then proceed with the establishment of the team who will be assigned as PIC (Person in Charge) or responsible in monitoring the availability and reliability of data communication devices that have been installed in each location of KPU.

To further ensure that all preparatory work well, Telkom has done testing processes, and integration. At this stage, testing is done from the KPU in regency Level, Provincial level and even at Central Level in jakarta. Therefore, Telkom is optimistic able to support 2009 Election, “said Pontjo Nugroho”.

Described, from the experience in Legislative Elections which is currently still in progress, network utilization as indicated through the traffic load that can be seen is still far below the capacity that has provided by Telkom.

For necessity of Election, in accordance with the agreement with KPU, Telkom is responsible for providing a bandwidth Connectivity, integration and installation, Disaster Recovery Center, Call Center and Network Maintenance.
