Trying to be independence especially providing the military technology equipment, Pusat Penelitian Elektronika dan Telekomunikasi Lembaga Ilmu Pengetahuan Indonesia (PPET LIPI) as Research Center of Electric and Telecommunications for Science Institution, make radar that claimed 40% made by Indonesia. Being collaborate with other institution and college, like LIPI, ITB, UI and IDE. This Indonesia group also collaborate with Delft University of Technology (TU Delft), Netherland which called International Research Center for Telecomunications and Radar (IRCTR) for providing the design and technical assignment.
The radar is named Indera ( Indonesian Radar ) which developed by PPET-LIPI and Sea Radar (Isra ) which developed by PT Solusi 247-RCS. From the information taken in the official site,ppet.lipi.go.id. The radar using Frequency Modulated Continous Wave (FMCW) which operate using 2 watt resource that can save more energy. Now the radar also equipped with vector map, AIS (automatic identification system) Information database of maritime , GPS, and also compass which integrated with display. The size also relative smaller than the first time.
The Head of Bidang Telekomunikasi LIPI-PPET, Dr Mashury Which taken from detikinet.com says, “ Although most of the components still importing, by improving local content , the dependence to foreigner can be decreased. Now the local content has reach 40 %”. /chend
