Indostar II become populer, Indovision Ensure additions 120 Channel

hard_wJAKARTA - After launching satellites Indostar II, Indovision ensure channel is increased up to 120 until the end of 2009. Whereas in 2010, Indovision only will add 20 channels, up to a total 140 channels.

“Besides the addition of channels, launching satellites Indostar II will also bring the high definition technology that will begin in October 2009,” said Corporate Secretary Indovision Arya Mahendra at Indovision Wisma Jakarta, tuesday (19/5/2009).

Indovision also will create corporation with local TV in order their channel go on Indovision.

“We have invited a local TV in Makassar, Yogyakarta, and Surabaya,” added Arya.

Besides, Arya also add, Indovision will also cooperate with the government and campus sect such us UI, ITB and ITS, to encourage local industry in order to supply disc parabola to Indovision.

“During this disc parabola we import from Taiwan. Hopefully we can make some agreement in the future. The presence of local industry is needed in order to save operational costs Indovision,” said Arya.

Costs incurred by MNC Skyvision paying for the TV in the house that has been imported, such as discoid parabola, dekoder and other equipment, amounted to USD15 million per year.

Currently satellite Indostar II still is controlled by Boeing. However, after 12 days after launch, the new satellite will be able to be controlled directly from Indonesia by Indovision.
