Not wanna be left behind with the others, Indonesia doing efforts to develop the technology culture especially in Robotic. One of the most visible and prestigious event is Robotic Contest.

Kontes Robot Cerdas Indonesia ( Indonesia Smart Robot Contest ) and Kontes Robot Indonesia ( Indonesia Robotic Contest ) which being participated by lot of University level student all over Indonesia just been held ini Yogyakarta for regional II selection for Kalimantan Island, Yogyakarta province, and Jawa Tengah in the UGM ( Universitas Gajah Mada ).

The event is being opened directly by Director of Penelitian dan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (DP2M) Ditjen Dikti, Prof. Dr. Ir. Suryo Hapsoro. In his speech while opening the event, he says that dikti will always support Indonesia young generation to be creative and innovative. Because Indonesia needs leader candidate which not only think globally but also must be creative and innovative while doing something useful for this country.

The judges is taken from person which professional in it concern. National University which have a name internationally is being invited to be judges. Such as ITB, ITS, Politeknik Elektronika Negeri Surabaya (PENS), UI, and UGM.

The competition is divided into two category . KCRI and KRI. About 13 team which do competition in KRI and about 37 in KRCI and all is represent its university.
